About
According to the EIA, in 2024 the average daily flow of crude oil and petroleum products through the Strait of Hormuz was 20 million barrels — roughly 20% of global petroleum consumption.
About 20% of global LNG trade also passed through the strait, with 84% of crude and condensate and 83% of LNG heading to Asian markets.
Any disruption to energy supply through the Strait of Hormuz can have a major impact on global industry and economies. This project was created to bring all that information together in one place, rather than searching across multiple sources.
Hormuz Monitor is a dashboard that lets you see vessel movements through the Strait of Hormuz, oil prices, and key U.S. market indices at a glance. It is designed to help you access scattered information faster, in one place.
